1. Why did you decide to study Irish?
I enjoy learning languages, and I knew that my time at Notre Dame would be the perfect opportunity to learn Irish.
2.
Cén
fáth
a bhfuil tu ag foghlaim na Gaeilge?
Is breá liom a bheith ag foghlaim teangacha agus cheap mé go mbeadh sé go hiontach an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim ag Notre Dame.
3. How have particular Irish professors, courses, lectures, etc. impacted you?
I've taken five courses on Irish Language and Literature so far, and all of my professors have been amazing. They are enthusiastic and eager to help. They make learning Irish fun, and my Irish Literature class was fascinating. I enjoy attending the lectures hosted by The Keough-Naughton Institute. It's fun and interesting to hear in-depth discussions on various aspects of Irish culture and history.
4. Inis
dúinn
faoi do ranganna/mhúinteoirí/leachtoiri sa Roinn. Conas a thaitin siad leat?
Tá McKibben agus MacLeod go seoigh. Tá sé pléisiúrtha an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim leo. Tá McQuillan go hiontach freisin.
5. Describe any/all research, internship, and activities (ex. study abroad, athletics) you’ve been involved with. What have you gained from these experiences?
Irish Conversation Circle helps me with my language skills. I get individual attention for an hour outside of the classroom. It's great!
6. Describe your future plans/goals. How do you think the study of Irish will help you reach those goals?
Studying Irish has broadened my understanding of the Irish culture. I know it will influence my writing in the future.
